Regional Setting Information
Different versions of Windows allow you to set the Regional Settings (alternatively, Regional Options) via the
Control Panel. Depending on your Windows version, there are 5 or 6 tabs to choose from on Regional Settings. The first
tab is titled
Regional Settings. From this tab, the Language and Country/Region options can be set. Most language and Country/Region options
should be compatible with SADA (though we have not tested them all).
However, there are Numbers formats which will cause errors in SADA. In particular, use of a comma as a decimal separator, which is
the default for a number of Continental European countries, may cause unrecoverable errors or give erroneous results.
The second tab on Regional Settings is for setting
the Numbers format. In order for SADA to function properly, on the Numbers tab, the decimal separator must be set to
a period (.) instead of a comma (,) on your computer. The comma is the default in a number of Continental European settings.
Similarly, any data
that is to be imported into SADA from either a comma-delimited or an Access file must also use a period instead of a comma as
the decimal separator.
